At the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) Working Group session in Tokyo, Japan this week, AT&T presented their success with Wi-Fi roaming over the last 5 years. Additionally, they announced they are now promoting thier own Wi-Fi network in the US as ready for in-bound Passpoint roaming as well as interest in partnering to roam onto Passpoint networks around the world.
Finbarr Coghlan, Accuris Networks CTO, described the "minimum" Passpoint requirements for Wi-Fi roaming. At a high level, 802.11u using ANQP/GAS and 802.1x for seamless attach and secure authentication are required. Please reach out to us if you want more details, just fill out the form below.
